KLANG, Sept 12 — The state government has provided some 50,000 vaccine doses for the mobile Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax), says Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud.

The state executive councillor for public health said the allocation for the mobile programme is from the Selvax Community supply which will be given for free to the Selangor citizens.

“Two vehicles will be used for the mobile programme, a mobile bus that could administer 500 doses of vaccine per day, and a mobile van clinic that we borrowed from Avisena Hospital which is capable of inoculating 250 doses a day.

“Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari also has stated that the state government is ready to disperse more vaccine supply should the allocation of 50,000 doses have been fully administered,” she said when met during the mobile Selvax programme, at the Kompleks Pasar Besar Meru, in Bandar Baru Klang constituency, here, today.

Dr Siti Mariah also encouraged the people to register at their respective state representative offices than to directly walk-in to the mobile programme locations.

“If they have registered at the state representative offices, they will be given a voucher or slot number. The participants also can register their names at the nearest constituency if the slots in their constituency have been filled-up,” she said.

Meanwhile, Dr Siti Mariah has urged all the state representatives including the opposition parties to collaborate in the mobile vaccination programme.

She said regardless of different political ideologies, collaboration is important to ensure the success of the mobile programme.

“It is important for the state representatives to be involved directly in the effort by tracing who have yet to be vaccinated, and they should know how many people want to get their jabs as we don’t want any surplus in supply.

“We have released the one week schedule and we welcome the opposition state representative to join the mobile Selvax programme,” she said.

The mobile Selvax programme which starts today was initiated to ensure that the people in Selangor are not left out from getting their Covid-19 vaccination.

The programme involving 11 constituencies started at Bandar Baru Klang constituency from 9am to 5pm. The one week programme will also involve Batu Tiga, Tanjung Sepat, Hulu Bernam, Gombak Setia, Bukit Antarabangsa, Batang Kali, Banting, Teratai, Dengkil and Kampung Tunku constituency.
