CITF urged to allow use of SELangkah digital cert as proof of vaccination

SHAH ALAM, Sept 8 — Selangor government has requested the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) to allow SELangkah digital certificate to be used as a temporary vaccination verification document.

State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said this was due to complaints from Selangor Vaccine Programme (Selvax) participants who have yet to receive their MySejahtera digital vaccination certificate despite having completed the full dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

According to her, as of yesterday, SELangkah had sent records of 159,919 Selvax participants to MySejahtera but 3,632 individuals have yet to receive the digital vaccination certificates.

“It is feared that the actual number is bigger. CITF explained that MIMOS Berhad (MIMOS) faced technical problems in integrating Selvax participants’ data into the MySejahtera system.

“MIMOS needed time to overcome the problem, but cannot give certainty when this issue can be resolved,” she said in a statement today.

Dr Siti Mariah said Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin would bring up their recommendation to the National Security Council (NSC) meeting today.

“We are still waiting for feedback and hope the proposal is approved immediately in the interest of the people of Selangor,” she said.

In March the government announced that individuals who had completed their dose will be given a digital vaccination certificate on MySejahtera as proof of immunisation and it will become a necessity in the future.

Currently, the government gives flexibility to individuals who are fully vaccinated, such as being able to perform congregation prayers at the mosque and dine-in at restaurants.
