SHAH ALAM, Sept 3 — Issues related to the degazettement of the Kuala Langat North Forest Reserve (KLNFR) will be brought up again in the Selangor state executive council meeting (MMKN) on September 8, says Pakatan Harapan Selangor (PH Selangor) in a joint statement today.

The party had made the decision following the meeting held among the leaders of the state component parties this morning.

“Those involved in the meeting have voiced their concern and opinions and agreed that the issue must be reviewed again in the next MMKN,” said the statement, which was co-signed by PKR Selangor chairman Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, who is also the PH Selangor chairman, DAP Selangor chairman Gobind Singh Deo and Amanah Selangor chairman Izham Hashim.

Meanwhile, the statement stated the objection against the Petaling Jaya Dispersal Link (PJD LINK) highway proposal was also addressed and discussed thoroughly.

“PH Selangor has noted that the state government did not yet approve the PJD Link.

“The meeting also agreed to decline any attempt to revive the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex) or any similar project,” the statement read.

PH Selangor said the leaders of the state component parties are always committed to upholding the party’s basic principles on the environment and people’s welfare agenda.

“The principles will be used as a guide for every development plan in Selangor,” he said.

On Wednesday, Amirudin, who is also the Selangor Menteri Besar, had agreed to hold off the degazettment process of KLNFR after meeting with the PKR political bureau.

State executive councillor for environment Hee Loy Sian had on August 30 told the Selangor legislative assembly that the state had decided to degazette 536.7 hectares of KLNFR for development under Section 12 of the National Forestry Act (Adoption) Enactment 1985 in the state executive council meeting last May 5 and validated in another meeting on May 19.
