Good compliance on Covid-19 self-test kits ceiling price in Selangor

SEKINCHAN, Sept 13 — Compliance on the ceiling price of RM19.90 for the sale of the Covid-19 Self-Test Kits in Selangor is good as no action or warnings have been issued by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) until today.

The ministry’s Selangor director Muhammad Zikril Azan Abdullah said although two complaints regarding self-test kits being sold above the ceiling price were recorded, no follow-up action was taken against the traders involved.

“We received both complaints in the Petaling district involving the Shah Alam area. When we reviewed the complaints and found that the traders had complied with the instructions issued, no action was taken against them.

“Based on our data, from September 5 until today, we carried out inspections at 564 premises covering the distribution, wholesale and retail sectors for self-test kits in Selangor. Generally speaking, all traders have set prices lower than the ceiling price,” he told reporters after checking on the prices of  Covid-19 self-test kits at pharmacies here today.

In the meantime, Muhammad Zikril Azan said so far stock supply of Covid-19 self-test kit was sufficient based on the data collection carried out by his office every day.

He also asked consumers to lodge complaints if there is a violation on the sale price of Covid-19 Self-Test Kit either at the premises or online by calling the call centre at 1800 886 800; Enforcement Command Centre (ECC) at 03-8882 6245 /6088: Whatsapp to 019- 279 4317 or come to any of the seven KPDNHEP offices in Selangor.
