MDHS, Land Office raid scheduled waste warehouse

SHAH ALAM, Sept 30 — The Hulu Selangor District Council (MDHS) raided a warehouse which carried out illegal industrial waste disposal activities near Batang Kali earlier today. 

State executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han the joint inspection with  the Selangor Land Office discovered that the scheduled waste was also not being managed according to set standards.

“Recently the state government received public complaints and information regarding the disposal of scheduled and industrial waste at a warehouse near Batang Kali. A raid was carried out and it turns out the complaint was true.

“Our initial assessment also revealed the waste was not managed according to standards, with the premise not registered as a place to conduct scheduled waste management activities,” he said on Facebook.

Following the raid, Sze Han said the Department of Environment has been notified of the matter, or further investigation and action.
