More vaccine requested for Bukit Antarabangsa mobile immunisation drive

AMPANG, Sept 16 — Bukit Antarabangsa state constituency coordinator has applied for an additional 250 doses under the Selangor Vaccination Programme’s mobile unit (Selvax Mobile) due to an overwhelming response.

Suzana Shaharudin said allocated 250 doses for today’s programme was not enough to meet demand from the large number of registrations made through the SELangkah app as well as those who walk-in.

She suggested the programme involving the community around Lembah Jaya state constituency to be held again to enable more people to receive its benefits.

“Alhamdulillah, Selgate Healthcare understands this situation and provided the additional doses needed. But looking at the response received, most likely this programme will need to be held again.

“As many as 60 per cent of the participants present were foreigners while the rest were locals. This means that there are still some of our people who have not received the vaccination,” she said when met at Dataran Santai Ampang Point here today.

Meanwhile, Lembah Jaya state constituency coordinator said he will apply to the state government to implement a mobile vaccination programme specifically for residents in the area.

“I believe there are still some who have not been vaccinated, it is possible that they are afraid to leave the house. So, we are going to talk to Selgate about this.

“Through this way, we will be able to achieve the government’s desire to achieve herd immunity in the near future,” said Daing Muhammad Reduan Bachok.

The programme that started on September 12 was to ensure that no citizen of the state is left out of receiving vaccinations.

Selvax mobile will run for 11 days from 9am to 5pm at Hulu Bernam, Bandar Baru Klang, Batu Tiga, Tanjung Sepat, Gombak Setia, Bukit Antarabangsa, Batang Kali, Banting, Teratai, Dengkil and Kampung Tunku.

The initiative was made possible from an RM200 million allocation under the Kita Selangor Package 2.0 that was announced on June 9.
