SHAH ALAM, Sept 6 — A multipurpose vehicle (MPV) purchased using the ‘Tabung Kemanusiaan Selangor Prihatin’ donation proceeds started being used yesterday to carry out a charity mission in Gaza, Palestine.

Global Peace Mission Malaysia chief executive officer Ahmad Fahmi Mohd Samsudin said the MPV worth RM150,000 was used to send out school equipment such as books, uniforms and stationeries.

“As of now, we have purchased one MPV using the proceeds from the ‘Tabung Kemanusiaan Selangor Prihatin’ and we plan to purchase another two vehicles after we receive the second phase of the aid.

“The MPVs will be handed over to the non-governmental organisation working on the field to distribute assistance, ferry patients to hospital and send students to school,” he said.

Ahmad Fahmi said an ambulance is also included in the assistance package and it will be handed over after conversion works is expected to be completed in two weeks time.

“Palestinian Health Ministry will decide which hospital will receive the ambulance,” he said.

On May 19, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had launched the fund to help the Palestinians who were oppressed by the Zionists.

Apart from the ambulance and MPVs, other assistance includes food packs and fuel which would be used to run the generators in Gaza hospitals.
