KUALA LANGAT, Sept 14 — The presence of the Selangor Vaccination Programme’s mobile unit (Selvax mobile) in the Tanjung Sepat constituency had managed to attract the attention of the local people.

Tanjung Sepat state assemblyman Borhan Aman Shah said all 550 vaccine doses that were allocated for his constituency were administered in a couple of hours, with most of the participants being foreigners.

“We highly encourage foreigners to participate in the vaccination programme as part of our effort to curb the outbreak. If we let them be unvaccinated, we are afraid they will unknowingly spread the virus each time they go out,” he said when met at Kompleks Muhibbah Tanjung Sepat.

Borhan, who is also the state executive councillor for rural development, also proposed for the continuation of the mobile vaccination programme if the number of unvaccinated people in Selangor remains high.

“This is a very good effort and I suggest we should increase the amount of vaccines allocated for the programme to ensure that everyone living in Selangor is vaccinated, hence achieving herd immunity,” he said.

The Selvax mobile initiative first started three days ago with the objective to ensure that no one is left out of the state’s vaccination drive.

The programme involves 11 constituencies and will run from 9am to 5pm for a week.

Apart from Bandar Baru Klang, Batu Tiga and Tanjung Sepat, other participating constituencies include Hulu Bernam, Gombak Setia, Bukit Antarabangsa, Batang Kali, Banting, Teratai, Dengkil and Kampung Tunku.
