SHAH ALAM, 13 Sept — The Batu Tiga State representative is calling for the Selangor Vaccination Programme’s mobile unit (Selvax mobile) to make a second round of visits to the many subdistricts of Selangor soon.
Rodziah Ismail said this is because the mobile vaccination unit has managed to draw a good crowd everywhere it goes.
“We had targeted to administer 300 shots in the Batu Tiga subdistrict but as of 1pm today, 280 of the vaccines were already used up. If there are still more people coming in when the registration counters close later this afternoon, we will do a second round.
“Based on our survey, many of the locals here have not received their shots because they had been undergoing quarantine after having contracted the disease,” Rodziah said after visiting the Selvax mobile vaccination drive in Kompleks Padang Jawa.
She also highlighted that three individuals were not able to receive their shots today because they were not from the Batu Tiga constituency.
“I am confident that they will eventually get their vaccines when Selvax mobile comes by their neighbourhood,” she added.
The Selvax bus starts its rounds at 9am and ends its shift at 5pm each day. In all, it will visit 11 subdistricts and functions to ensure that no one is left behind in the state’s vaccination programme.
On June 9, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had announced a RM200 million allocation under the Kita Selangor Package 2.0 for this purpose.
