Water supply in Gombak restored by 63 pct, 15 areas still underway

SHAH ALAM, Sept 26 — Water supply has been restored to 63 per cent of the 41 affected areas in Gombak after a burst pipe incident along Jalan Ampang, as of 10am today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said the water supply in 15 areas are still affected, with the recovery period differing from one area to another, depending on the location and distance of consumers’ premises.

“Air Selangor hopes that consumers who receive their water supply will use it prudently, to ensure the restoration process in the affected areas runs smoothly as scheduled,” it said in a Facebook post.

Water supply in all affected areas is expected to fully recover by 10pm today.

Yesterday 41 areas in the Gombak region experienced unscheduled water supply disruptions following a burst pipe incident near the Ampang Point Flyover along Jalan Ampang.

Air Selangor completed emergency repair works on the burst pipe at 8:30pm yesterday.
