SUBANG JAYA, Oct 5 — Malaysians have a chance at grabbing 10,000 Selangor Tourism Voucher 2.0 for free, starting on October 22 until December 31.
State executive councillor for tourism Hee Loy Sian said the voucher, worth RM100, is available via the Shopee platform and can be utilised from October 22 until June 30 next year.
“The voucher can be used to purchase the state’s tourism package from 28 tourism agencies who participated in the programme.
“I hope the incentive, amounting to RM1 million, will be a significant initiative to boost the local tourism sector again, as we move into the endemic phase of Covid-19,” he said.
Hee said this after monitoring the implementation of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and launching of the voucher at Sunway Lagoon Theme Park earlier today.
Present at the launch was Tourism Selangor chief executive officer Azrul Shah Mohamad and Sunway Theme Park executive director Calvin Ho.
Previously Selangor had allocated RM2 million through the Selangor Tourism Voucher 1.0, which was distributed via Lazada and Touch ‘N Go’s e-wallet platform.
On December 18 last year, the state government launched the Tourism Voucher Subsidy Redemption programme worth RM200 each.
The distribution includes some 10,000 vouchers to stay in a hotel, theme park or licenced homestay.
