SHAH ALAM, Oct 20 — The Ikon Agro Selangor 2021 event, which kickstarted yesterday, is offering RM10,000 in cash, input incentive and agricultural equipment for the winners.
The programme offers five categories, including agriculture, livestock breeding, aquaculture, agro-based industry, and agro-tourism, said state exco for modernisation and agriculture Izham Hashim.
“Candidates who meet the criteria will be chosen to become Ikon Agro Selangor, winning cash prizes and input assistance valued at RM10,000 per person,” he said on Facebook.

The programme will run for two weeks until October 24, with the Ikon Agro Selangor shortlist to be announced on October 28.
Early candidates will be announced on November 8, while the shortlisted videos will be available on Agro Selangor’s YouTube and Facebook channels between November 9 to 14.
Ikon Agro Selangor is aimed at providing guidence to new agropreneur in being competitive in agriculture, as well as turning them into mini-ambassadors for the state.
The jury’s evaluation will be based on the use of modern technology and production output, which affects 70 per cent of the marks, while the remaining 30 marks will be determined via video votes on YouTube.
