MB: 7,000 traders receive temporary business licenses from MBSA

SHAH ALAM, Oct 15 — 7,000 small traders under the administration of the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) received temporary licenses this year.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the license period was for a year, and those who wanted to continue their business could apply to do so.

“We are aware that for some of them this is only temporary as some were laid off, so we give them temporary licenses.

“During the MCO (movement control order), industries were closed and many lost their jobs, so the PBTs (local authorities) made it easy for them to get a place to do business,” he said.

Amirudin said this after the launching ceremony of the Entrepreneur Development@Shah Alam programme held at the Shah Alam City Hall (MBSA) Auditorium yesterday.

From August last year, local authorities in Selangor issued temporary licenses to unlicensed traders, especially to the low-income group (B40) who have been affected by Covid-19.

Local authorities must ensure their business sites are suitable, as well as ensure the safety of the areas and that it will not cause any disturbances.
