SUBANG JAYA, Oct 20 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) will be organising 17 programmes and giving out incentives to the public from October to December, to mark the first anniversary of its city status.

Subang Jaya Mayor Noraini Roslan said among the various competitions offered are birthday wishes, photography and short video contests, quiz on knowledge about MBSJ, and an award for the best strata community management body.

During this time, the city council will also offer a reduction of the monthly multi-storey parking pass in SS15, from RM159 to RM100, apart from the exemption of late payment charges for assessment tax as well as the building plan processing fee rebate incentive.

“The city council will also hold a reading of Yassin prayers, and the Bicara Perdana show this Friday. Next week we will organise a live programme at Media Selangor through the ‘Bual Santai Bersama Datuk Bandar’ talk show.

“All these activities and incentives are aimed at celebrating the community and promoting the success and achievements of the city council. It is also to appreciate the many stakeholders who gave their support for MBSJ to improve the quality of services,” she said.

MBSJ is the third local authority to be elevated into city status in the state after Shah Alam City Council and Petaling Jaya City Council and the declaration came into effect on October 20 last year.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin said the declaration of the status was made after obtaining the consent of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.
