HULU SELANGOR, Oct 7 — Around 3,800 residents in the Batang Kali state constituency have been inoculated through the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax) to date.
Its constituency coordinator Saifuddin Shafi Muhammad said the figure is from participants of the Selvax Community and Selvax mobile unit (Selvax mobile) organised by the Selangor state government.
“The response was encouraging and so far about 70 to 80 per cent of the adult population in Batang Kali have been fully-vaccinated.
“I wish to thank the state government for organising a programme that means a lot to the residents here, hopefully this initiative will continue,” he said when met at the Selvax mobile programme for the Batang Kali state constituency at the compound of its service centre here today.
Saifuddin said a total of 608 doses of the Covid-19 vaccines were provided in the programme, which targets foreigners who do not possess identification documents.
“We would welcome it, If the state government wants to increase the number of vaccine doses in the Batang Kali state constituency and further strive to achieve herd immunity,” he added.
Selvax mobile has been running since September 12 to ensure that no citizen of the state is left behind in the vaccination process.
The programme is open to individuals aged 18 and above, including foreigners, and registration can be made early through the Selangkah mobile app.
