“Based on the reports from assemblymen and coordinators, over 91,000 families have received the food baskets funded by the state government via the economic packages,” Amirudin said during the Selangor Budget 2022 briefing session at Hotel Wyndham in Klang yesterday.

He added the state government has also announced several mega projects in the state budget for 2022, so as to provide investment space, infrastructural amenities, and employment opportunities.

“This is important, as the rakyat also wish to see how the govenment can stimulate the start for the economic sector, which has been affected after over eight months of the Movement Control Order,” Amirudin said.

In March last year, the Menteri Besar announced the Pakej Rangsangan Ekonomi Selangor Prihatin worth RM127.78, which benefits frontliners, traders, and university students.

The package’s second phase was announced on April 1 last year, worth RM272 million and aimed at softening Covid-19’s impact. This was followed by the Economic Recovery Plan at RM55.8 million on July 13.

On January 20 this year, the Pakej Kita Selangor worth RM73.87 million was introduced to alleviate the people’s burden in dealing with MCO 2.0.

The same package was once again announced on June 9 worth RM551.6, to aid low-income groups, students, small traders, farmers, and tourism industry operators.
