PKPS targets 1,000 new entrepreneurs under Agro Ehsan

By Mustakim Ramli

SHAH ALAM, Oct 15 — The Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) is aiming to create 1,000 new entrepreneurs within two years, through its Agro Ehsan development programme.

Its group chief executive officer Dr Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi said Agro Ehsan is looking to create a new source of income for the B40 group affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We will implement training programmes and identify business sites that have potential to become a new source of income for Agro Ehsan participants.

“They will be exposed to aspects of entrepreneurship, such as its culture and training, identify new business opportunities, and obtain financing facilities,” he said.

Mohamad Khairil said this after the launching ceremony of the Entrepreneur Development@Shah Alam programme at the Shah Alam City Hall (MBSA) Auditorium, here.

He added the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between PKPS, MBSA and Yayasan Hijrah Selangor would create an entrepreneurship initiative for the people of Shah Alam.

“The Entrepreneur Development@Shah Alam programme organised by MBSA is part of the initial phase of Agro Ehsan implementation, and we will work with several other agencies to expand its impact throughout the state.

“I believe we can reach 1,000 (entrepreneurs target) in two years because all PBT (local authorities) have started contacting PKPS to implement this programme in their area,” Mohamad Khairil said.

He explained that PKPS will launch Agro Ehsan in the near future to provide details on the programme’s implementation method to the public.
