SHAH ALAM, Oct 15 — The Puchong Indah vaccination centre was reopened yesterday under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) for teenagers, with a daily target of 1,500 students.

Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han said the programme, at Subang Jaya City Hall’s (MBSJ) multipurpose hall in Puchong Indah, will use the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

“The programme will last for six weeks, until November 18. Up to 25 schools are expected to be involved, with a target of 1,000 to 1,500 students inoculated daily. The PICK for teenagers at the centre is part of the effort between the Petaling District Health Office, PPD Petaling Perdana, MBSJ, and the Kinrara DUN Community Service Centre.

“For the time being, the Health Ministry will only allow vaccinations based on appointments at centres, which are arranged by the respective schools,” he said in a statement.

Ng, who is the state local government Exco, said he hopes the centre will allow for vaccinations without prior appointments in the future.

Namun beliau yang juga EXCO Kerajaan Tempatan berharap PPV berkenaan akan membenarkan kehadiran tanpa janji temu pada masa akan datang.

“This is to ensure the inoculation can be carried out more comprehensively, including for students under the home-based teaching and learning system, or who have stopped schooling,” he said.

Ng added the Puchong Indah centre will benefit Puchong’s residents, particularly parents who will no longer have to send their children to other centres outside their residential area.
