SHAH ALAM, Oct 25 — The Selangor Youth Movement (PeBS) Enactment will be among the focus during the upcoming Selangor State Legislative Assembly in November.

State executive councillor for youth development Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the enactment would lead to the establishment of a strong organisation to approach the youth groups in Selangor.

“The PeBS Enactment will be tabled in November and once the enactment is passed, the youth association in the state will either become a council or a body or a legislative organisation.

“I hope the Menteri Besar will keep on supporting the youth to ensure that they are not left behind in the development of the state,” he said in his speech during the PeBS Letter of Appointment handover ceremony  at Dewan Jubli Perak, here, yesterday.

Also present during the event was Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, who officiated and handed over the letter of appointment to 280 PeBS members and 10 PeBS Executive Committee members.

Meanwhile, as of the second quarter of 2021, Khairuddin said youth accounts for almost half of Selangor’s 6.5 million population.

“Hence, the state government is establishing a good relationship with the youth by creating PeBS.

“I hope this appointment would create better collaboration between the state government and youth to make PeBS the best youth movement in the country,” he said.
