State Budget 2022 to focus on rural highway infrastructure, among others

By Siti Rohaizah Zainal

SHAH ALAM, Oct 21 — The development and restoration of highway infrastructure in areas outside of cities will be one of the focuses of the Selangor Budget 2022.

State exco for rural development and village traditions Borhan Aman Shah said thus far the damaged highways that have been identified are mostly in the Kuala Langat and Sabak Bernam areas.

“Repairs can be carried out, which were temporarily stopped due to the movement control order. Contractors will be mobilised.

“Additionally we will also focus on building garbage chambers in villages, after seeing the unsystematic and unsightly waste disposal methods,” he said during the ceremony to present tablets to village chiefs at the Selangor State Secretariat Building yesterday.

Borhan said his committee will also focus on strengthening the administration and management of village chiefs, so that it is more systematic.

Earlier on October 8, during his briefing on Budget 2022 Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said all assemblymen and the state’s community leadership were involved in its preparation.

The tabling of the budget will take place on November 26, and is to be debated for a week before being approved in December.
