SHAH ALAM, Oct 10 — The Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat programme will now include the segments of society who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the assistance to these segments was included after the programme was rebranded during the tabling of Budget 2022.

“The branding of the Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat is an example of the state government’s emphasis on the social prosperity of the rakyat.

“Originally we wanted to do this in the middle of the year, were it not for the pandemic. We will declare the branding and new contents later during the budget,” Amirudin said during the Selangor Budget 2022 briefing session at Hotel Wyndham in Klang yesterday.

He added the state government is planning to allocate between RM50 to RM80 million for the new programme, in the form of cash handouts.

“The programme will run from early in the year until July, and will bring benefits to society.

“Additionally, the programme involves youths, enabling aspects related to employment, cultural arts, commercial opportunities, and education,” Amirudin said.
