GOMBAK, Oct 2 — 19 squatters living around the the district have been offered land ownerships in lieu of a replacement so that development can occur.

This included the handover of the 5A Notice by Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari during his on-ground visit to the Sungai Tua state constituency earlier today.

He said the offer involves 10 residents in Kampung Sungai Tua, while the remaining nine are from Kampung Bendahara, who were given replacement lands in Kuang and Batu Arang.

“Today we have just finished aiding the squatters of Sungai Tua. They lived by the riverbank, and often faced problems when it floods.

“For the residents of Kampung Bendahara, their land will be taken for redevelopment by the state government, or depending on the development plan after this,” Amirudin said.

The visit programme also saw the Menteri Besar hand over contributions to 20 students in the constituency who achieved excellent results in last year’s Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination.

“Students who obtained 9As were given laptops and cash rewards, while those who got 8As and 7As were given cash rewards,” he said.
