SUBANG JAYA, Oct 6 — Tourism operators in the state are reminded to abide by the rules set by the authorities, following the loosening of the industry under Phase Three of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
State executive councillor for tourism Hee Loy Sian said steps to control the pandemic required joint efforts in taking precautionary measures to avoid harm.
“Operators need to ensure that individuals who wish to enter their premises must show proof of having completed their Covid-19 vaccination.
“A complete vaccination means taking two doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Astrazeneca and Sinovac vaccines, with 14 days since the date of their second dose, while for the single-dose vaccines Johnson & Johnson and Cansino it needs to be after 28 days,” he said.
Hee said this after inspecting the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the launch of the Selangor Tourism Voucher 2.0 at the Sunway Lagoon theme park here yesterday.
According to the exco, operators can only allow a maximum of 50 per cent of their premises’ capacity and are limited to accepting only those with low-risk status in the MySejahtera app.
Selangor is among the states involved in the transition from Phase Two to Phase Three of the NRP effective October 1.
The phase shift gives flexibility to the people who have received two doses of vaccine to do domestic tourism activities involving hotel accommodation and homestays.
Tourists activities allowed in tourism premises in Selangor include:
1. Hotels and homestays
2. Zoos, theme parks, diving, aquariums, national parks
3. Cultural and heritage arts premises, museums, libraries, galleries
4. Family entertainment centres
