Water restored to 99 pct of affected areas in Klang Valley

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 — The restoration of water supply in the affected areas in the Klang Valley has reached 99 per cent as of 9am today, said Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).

Water supply has been fully restored in three regions, namely Hulu Selangor, Kuala Langat, Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Petaling and Gombak.

“The recovery rate in Kuala Lumpur is at 99.8 per cent and Klang (99.4 per cent),” Air Selangor said in a statement today.

According to Air Selangor, the duration of the disruption and restoration of water supply in the affected areas would differ depending on the distance of the consumer’s premises and the water pressure of the distribution system.

Air Selangor hoped that consumers who have received their water supply would use water prudently to allow the recovery process in the other affected areas to run smoothly as scheduled.

Air Selangor had previously announced that a total of 998 areas in eight districts would be affected by scheduled water supply disruption from October 13 to 16 due to the shutting down of the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase 1 (SSP1 WTP) for upgrading and maintenance works.

Users in the affected areas are advised to follow the latest updates via the hentitugas.airselangor.com/ website.

More information on the disruption can be found on Air Selangor’s mobile app, and its FacebookInstagram and Twitter account including FacebookInstagram and Twitter.
