SHAH ALAM, Nov 1 — A total of 239 individuals have found employment after participating in the state government’s job fair ‘Jelajah Selangor Bekerja 2021’ (2021 Selangor Jobs Exploration) after two of its tour series in Shah Alam and Kuala Selangor on October 23 and 30.

Meanwhile, 513 out of 1,108 participants have qualified for the second interview, said state executive councillor for youth development Mohd Khairuddin Othman.

“The state government’s target is to reduce the unemployment rate from 4.4 per cent this year to 3.7 per cent in 2022,” he said in a statement today.

Mohd Khairuddin said a total of 55 companies participated in the two series of tours and among the companies that hired were UMW Toyota Sdn Bhd and Proton Holdings Bhd.

He said two more tour series will be held in Hulu Selangor and Petaling, on November 6 and 20 respectively.

More than 25,000 jobs are offered through the programme that tours several districts in Selangor from October 23 to November 27.
