SHAH ALAM, Nov 20 — Efforts to increase the water level at a reservoir in Sime UEP, USJ is still ongoing, says Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).
The drop in water level at the reservoir was due to the technical problem on the main distribution pipe that supplies water to the reservoir at Sime UEP in Kg. Kenangan, Puchong.
“As of noon, the works to increase the water level at the reservoir in Sime UEP are still ongoing. Water supply will start to be distributed to the consumers in stages once the water level at the reservoir has been stabilised,” said its corporate communication head Elina Baseri in a statement today.
Elina said Air Selangor would continue to mobilise water tankers to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals, dialysis centres, and funeral services.
“Consumers are required to adhere to physical distancing and to wear a face mask at all times while collecting water supply from the water tankers,” she added.
Earlier, USJ 1 to USJ 27 areas weres hit by an unscheduled water disruption and low water pressure due to a technical problem or an airlock at the main distribution pipe to the Sime UEP reservoir.
Air Selangor had said the water supply is expected to be fully restored by midnight tonight.
