SEPANG, Nov 9 — Selangor has joined the Dubai World Expo at the end of next month, as part of efforts to promote the state as a tourist destination.
Tourism exco Hee Loy Sian said Selangpr’s participation is part of the programme with Tourism Selangor, which will run for seven days.
“We are targeting visitors from Saudi Arabia to Malaysia, as this category is the second-highest in Selangor,” he said during the launching ceremony of the Sepang-Sungai Pelek-Salak tourism map at Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort earlier today.
Through this agreement, Selangor will use 12,000 square feet of space in Pavilion Malaysia, to conduct networking activities and an investment promotion forum.
Last year, the government agency under the jurisdiction of the Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change Ministry was appointed to implement Pavilion Malaysia at the expo.
