Exco: Drainage upgrade project will solve Kapar Indah flash floods problem

SHAH ALAM, Nov 30 — Drainage system upgrade works in Taman Sungai Kapar Indah, Klang will solve the problem of flash floods in the area.

State executive councillor for infrastructure Izham Hashim said the Klang Municipal Council has appointed a consultant for a study on the project, which is scheduled for January next year.

“Meanwhile, temporary upgrading work in several parts of the area is currently underway,” he said in the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting here today.

Izham was responding to a query from Meru assemblyman Mohd Fakhrulrazi Mohd Mokhtar, regarding the state government’s measures to overcome flash floods in the area.

Izham added that the appointed consultant will also investigate the cause of the incident, apart from mapping the area.

“The relevant parties will analyse the existing drainage system and prepare a mitigation plan through the implemented project,” he said.
