Govt must have clear, consistent SOP to prepare for endemic phase

By Sheeda Fathil

SHAH ALAM, Nov 18 — The Federal government must have clear and consistent standard operation procedures (SOP) to prepare for the endemic phase of Covid-19, says Ng Sze Han.

The state executive councillor for local government said this would help Malaysians prepare to live with the coronavirus and go back to business as usual with the new norms in place.

“We have to make sure that the public is truly ready and understand what is endemic and how to manage if they develop any symptoms.

“The SOP in place now is quite strict and because we are still in the pandemic phase,” he said during SelangorTV’s #Selangor2020 talk show titled Steps in Facing Endemic, broadcast on Media Selangor Facebook last night.

Meanwhile, on the 2022 Selangor Budget, Ng said the state administration must always prioritise the people’s welfare and help with the recovery stage of those affected by the pandemic.

The Selangor state budget (#Selangor2022) is scheduled to be tabled on November 26 at 3pm at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly and will focus on plans to boost the economy post-Covid-19 pandemic.

The tabling of the state budget by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari will be aired live on SelangorTV (selangortv.my) and Facebook Media Selangor (facebook.com/MediaSelangor).

Complete news coverage will be available on SelangorKini (selangorkini.my) and its other two editions in Mandarin (selangorkini.my/zh/hans/) and Tamil (selangorkini.my/ta/), while the English news can be read via Selangor Journal (selangorjournal.my).
