Local tourism sector seeks boost for next year under #Selangor2022

PETALING JAYA, Nov 24 — The #Selangor2022 Budget aims to increase the allocation for the domestic tourism sector, so as to stimulate the industry next year.

State executive councillor for tourism Hee Loy Sian said the promotion campaign and high-impact activities must also be implemented, in the effort to bring back the state tourism sector’s momentum.

“I hope the state government can allocate additional funds for us to organise more seminars, or visits abroad, to promote Selangor’s tourism products,” he said during the launching ceremony of the Pusing Selangor Dulu Travel Fair and the Global Tourism Selangor 2021 Convention, at the New World Hotel in Petaling Jaya yesterday.

Earlier on October 8, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said in a budget briefing that all state assemblymen and community leaders were involved in its preparation.

The briefing also included the participation of state opposition and independent representatives, in the discussion to formulate a more constructive budget for the benefit of the people.

The tabling of the #Selangor2022 Budget can be watched live on SelangorTV’s (selangortv.my) channel and on social media at https://www.facebook.com/MediaSelangor

News coverage of the event commences at 3pm, and can be followed at SelangorKini (selangorkini.my) and three other editions, including for English, Mandarin (selangorkini.my/zh-hans/) and Tamil (selangorkini.my/ta/)
