SHAH ALAM, Nov 8 — The first rooftop remote-control (RC) car racing track in the country is now opened at SACC Mall, here, from yesterday.

PKNS Real Estate (PREC) chief executive officer Fakru Radzi Ab Ghani said the SACC Mall RC Park, which is also the third rooftop RC track in Southeast Asia, is part of the state government’s efforts to promote outdoor sports and recreation activities and keep up with current trends.

He said the race track located at the rooftop level of the shopping centre would revive the retail industry in the area, where the PKNS Shah Alam is located next door.

“We believe the collaboration between SACC Mall and Bazaarlokal would be an attractive outdoor activity for all generations, especially the youth,” he said.

In conjunction with the opening of the track yesterday, Fakru Radzi said a company specialising in RC car products and services, RC Planet, had organised the RC Car Tamiya competition, which saw the participation of 80 RC car enthusiasts from 10am to 6pm.

Meanwhile, RC Planet director Suah Kim Heng said those interested in RC car products can visit their store located on the fifth floor of SACC Mall.

“They can use the RC track at the rate of RM20 per day,” he said.
