Melaka election — BN forms state government with simple majority

MELAKA, Nov 20 — Barisan Nasional (BN) has formed the state government after winning 15 of the 28 seats in the Melaka state election today.

Election Commission (EC) chairman Datuk Abdul Ghani Salleh said these were the results as at 9.42 pm.

“BN has won 15 of the 28 seats up for grabs and thus has obtained a majority exceeding 50 per cent of the seats contested,” he said at Menara Persekutuan here.

Abdul Ghani also said the polling process for the election went smoothly.
