Melaka state election: Sg Rambai PKR candidate thanks Selangor Pakatan Harapan for support

By Zareef Muzammil

JASIN, Nov 13 — The PKR candidate for the Sungai Rambai constituency seat in Melaka has expressed her appreciation for Pakatan Harapan Selangor’s campaign support.

Farzana Hayani Mohd Nasir, fondly known as Nana, also thanked its chairman Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari for making a ground visit.

“I was overjoyed when he came down to meet me, and give his support to the party machinery here.

“I hope voters can evaluate for themselves my determination and sincerity in looking after society’s welfare,” she said during the casual interaction programme with the public yesterday night, at the Kota Budaya Sungai Rambai food court.

The 21-year old UiTM communications and media undergraduate, who is the youngest candidate fielded in the ongoing Melaka state election, said many of the local residents in the area reacted positively to her participation in the process for the first time.

The Melaka PKR Srikandi chief added this was determined from the response, after five days of visiting residents at warungs and suraus, following the nomination of candidates.

“Thank God, I was exhilarated when they perceived me as not too young to contest, but instead regarded it as necessary for young people to contend,” Nana said.

One of her aims, should she secure Sungai Rambai, is to increase the Internet connectivity in the area, as well as increase the local populace’s digital economy and boost job opportunities.

The Melaka state election will take place on November 20. The state constituency is also being contested by Muhammad Jefri Safry from Parti Pribumi Bersatu who is also representing Perikatan Nasional, Nazatul Asyraf Md Dom from Parti Bumiputera Perkasa Malaysia, and Siti Faizah Abdul Azis from Umno-BN.
