Nearly RM2 billion in federal funds for projects and upgrade works next year — MB

SHAH ALAM, Nov 24 — Selangor has received funds amounting to RM1.756 billion from the Federal government to bear the costs for new and extended projects in 2022.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the allocation under the 12th Malaysian Plan (12MP) is for upgrading works on existing roads, the construction of new roads in Serendah, and the construction of a cardiologist centre at Serdang Hospital.

He added the funds will also be channelled for the construction of the Tanjung Karang Hospital.

Amirudin said high-impact infrastructure projects must be prioritised, as Selangor is Malaysia’s economic powerhouse and contributes 25 per cent to its gross domestic product.

“The state government is committed to executing 12MP, which will benefit the people of Selangor,” he said on Facebook yesterday.

Earlier on, Amirudin attended the Post-12MP Engagement Session with the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economic Affairs) Datuk Seri Mustapha Mohamed.
