By Amin Ridzuan Ishak

PUTRAJAYA, Nov 1 — The Menteri Besar is confident that the appointment of Dato’ Haris Kasim as the Selangor State Secretary effective today will help ensure the smooth running of the state administration.

With more than 20 years of experience in working with various agencies, Haris has been giving the best service until his most recent position as the Selangor State Financial Officer, said Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

“I hope he will continue to work closely with us and pursue the agenda to develop Selangor,” he said.

Amirudin said this during the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)between the state government, the Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre (STDC) and Siemens Malaysia here today.

Haris replaces Dato’ Nor Azmie Diron.

Meanwhile, Haris said his focus is getting Selangor to recover from the Covid-19 scourge through several strategies that will be included in the 2022 State Budget.

He explained that the tabling of the budget by the Menteri Besar requires the commitment of various parties to ensure its effectiveness to help all levels of society.

“I consider this appointment as trust (given to me) and a lot needs to be done because Selangor is not a small state. I will work with all officers so that the aspirations and vision outlined can be continued,” he said.
