SHAH ALAM, Nov 25 — The public can now buy reading materials from the Selangor Book Festival 2021 online via the Shopee platform and the Selangor Digital e-Supply Chain (Seldec) programme.

Selangor Public Library Corporation director Datin Paduka Mastura Muhamad said the service is a convenience for members of the public, and enables them to obtain books in the event they are unable attend the festival, which begins on December 2.

“For Shopee, exhibitors will make the deliveries themselves while for Seldec, it will be sent via their own couriers at a very reasonable rate, compared to other delivery services.

“Meanwhile those attending the festival will also be able to pay for their purchases without cash, since the organiser has prepared QR codes,” she told SelangorKini yesterday.

This year’s Selangor Book Festival involves 121 exhibitors, and for the first time will be conducted in a hybrid manner, both physically and online.

“The public, particularly book lovers, should use this platform to collectively get all sorts of interesting materiel at reasonable prices.

“Visitors do not have to worry as the standard operating procedures in place are strict, seeing as we will only allow 2,000 people to enter at one time,” Mastura said.

The festival will take place at the Shah Alam Convention Centre from December 2 until 12, and has over 200,000 local and international books on offer.
