PETALING JAYA, Nov 6 — Up to 230 teens were vaccinated via the Vaksin Selangor (Selvax) programme for adolescents in the Bandar Utama state constituency, as of 2pm today.

Its assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin said the programme, held at Dewan Komuniti Bandar Utama 3, is still accepting walk-ins from the public up to 5pm today.

“We have prepared 1,000 vaccine doses, and thus far 250 registrations have been received. I welcome the residents in and around Bandar Utama who remain unvaccinated to come today.

“I hope this initiative by the state government can provide some measure of help to expedite the vaccination process, not just for adolescents but for most if not all of the residents,” she said after visiting the community hall where the programme is currently running.

Jamaliah added the percentage of vaccine registrations for the programme today is quite low, when compared to the general number of residents who have already been vaccinated.

“As a whole, the Bandar Utama constituency has conducted over 10 vaccination programmes, and we are confident the majority of residents have also been vaccinated,”

Earlier on October 7, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced the expansion of Selvax to include teenagers, involving 150,000 doses, after the Health Ministry granted its approval.

Prior to this, Selangor launched Selvax Komuniti dan Selvax Industri to complete and expedite the vaccination process for all residents in the state.
