Selangor communities receive Green Neighbourhood Appreciation Award 2021

SHAH ALAM, Nov 10 — Several communities in Selangor have been recognised as the winners in various categories of the Green Neighbourhood Appreciation Award 2021 yesterday. 

Kebun Komuniti Kampung Sungai Pinang Bandar in Klang won first place under the village housing community category, while Kampung Baru Ampang won third place for the same category.

For the landed housing category, the Damansara Jaya Home Owners and Residents Association in Petaling Jaya was named as the third place winner.

As for the high-rise housing category, Pangsapuri Cemara in Cheras and Blok 3 Desa Mentari Environment Club in Petaling Jaya won second and third place, respectively.

Meanwhile, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Putra Perdana in Puchong and Sekolah Kebangsaan Jalan Empat in Bandar Baru Baru placed third and second respectively, for the public and private institution category.

The Petaling Jaya City Council bagged first place for the local council category, followed by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council in second place.

First place winners took home cash prizes worth RM5,000, RM3,000 (second place) and RM1,500 (third place) as well as trophies and certificates. 

A total of 130 participations were received and only 30 were shortlisted in the programme organised by the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT).

The appreciation ceremony was conducted virtually and officiated by the KPKT minister Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merica.
