Selangor Opposition Leader hails increased allocation for constituencies in #Selangor2022

SHAH ALAM, Nov 29 — The Leader of the Opposition in Selangor has praised the state government’s move to increase the allocation for opposition assemblymen as a ‘gentlemanly’ act.

Datuk Rizam Ismail said the decision to increase the allocation from RM150,000 kepada RM400,000 was well-received.

“We received a RM400,000 allocation from Putrajaya via the Federal Coordination Unit, and at the same time the state government channeled RM400,000. This means there is reciprocity in the matter,” he said, after the tabling of the 2022 Selangor Budget at the State Legislative Assembly.

The Sungai Air Tawar assemblyman added the announcement on development in Sabak Bernam was anticipated, since it had been left derelict since BN’s defeat in 2008.

“The planning is already there, such as the Sungai Lang area being an education and industry area, but development could not continue and ceased when we lost the state.

“I am very thankful, and this matter has been certainly awaited for,” Rizam said.

The allocation for opposition constituencies has tripled to RM400,000, compared to RM150,000 before.
