SHAH ALAM, Nov 26 — The state government will introduce several initiatives to revive the domestic tourism industry, which has been badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the allocations for these initiatives amount to RM114.6 million and will be disbursed from 2021 to 2025 to all sectors of the industry in Selangor.

“These initiatives include the 2022 Recovery Aid Grant for tourism industry players (from the Kita Selangor Package), and strengthening the Pusing Selangor Dulu and Splendid Selangor tourism campaigns,” he said during the tabling the 2022 Selangor Budget (#Selangor2022) here, today.

Other initiatives include the preparation and implementation of the ‘Safe and Healthy’ tourism standard operating procedures, organising the Tourism Selangor Global Convention 2022, and developing the infrastructure for tourism and handicrafts.

The Selangor government has allocated a total of RM2.343 billion for the 2022 Selangor Budget (#Selangor2022), to be disbursed to the people through five core strategies.
