#Selangor2022: Sports facility operators hope for special funds to cover operation cost

By Zareef Muzammil

SHAH ALAM, Nov 23 — The 2022 Selangor Budget (#Selangor2022) which will be tabled this Friday is hoped to provide special funds for the private sports facilities operators in the state.

Frenzy Sport Arena operator Hasron Misman said the financial aid is needed to help cover repair costs of the facilities which were not used throughout the premises closure.

“The courts were not used for almost three months and resulted in leaking roofs, rusty sports equipment and damaged floors.

“The cost to repair the damages is quite high and we barely afford to pay it as the rolling capital is only sufficient to cover monthly rental,” said the futsal and badminton centre operator when met recently.

The same hope is also echoed by All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Ezzyride operator Fauziah Latif, who welcomes any aid in the form of promotion and funds that can be used for purchasing extreme sports new equipment.

She said the business that she has operated since 11 years ago was also affected by the enforcement of the movement control order due to Covid-19.

“We have tried our best to run the business again by offering various promotions through our website and other social media platforms.

“However we are still hoping for some assistance from the state government especially in terms of promotions or funds that can at least ease the burden of ATV operators,” she said.

The #Selangor2022 Budget which will be tabled at State Legislative Assembly will focus on the revitalisation of the economy again as part of the effort to help those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

#Selangor2022 Budget will also be live streamed via SelangorTV portal (selangortv.my).

The news reports can be read through Selangorkini (selangorkini.my) and three other editions including Mandarin (selangorkini.my/zh-hans/) and Tamil (selangorkini.my/ta/).
