Selangor’s Aviation Show prepping nears completion

By Zareef Muzammil

SUBANG, Nov 24 — The preparation work for the Selangor Aviation Show 2021 (SAS 2021) has reached 80 per cent since it began a fortnight ago.

Invest Selangor Berhad chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris said the preparation work includes setting up booths for exhibitors, and aircraft space.

He said thorough preparations have been carried out to ensure the inaugural programme, which starts tomorrow, will go as smoothly as planned.

“Alhamdulillah (God be praised) preparations are going along very well, and I hope the event will see active participation by industrial players and the public,” Hasan said when met at the Skypark Regional Aviation Centre, here, yesterday.

Themed ‘Selangor, the Asean Business and General Aviation Hub’, the event will be joined by 43 exhibitors from local and international companies, including from Turkey, Switzerland, the United States, France and Brazil.

Hasan said a total of 15 aircrafts will be showcased during the three-day event, involving private jets, helicopters, and light aircrafts.

“Other programmes include seminars, dialogue and sharing ideas with the aviation industry players, apart from activities for students,” he said.

Hosted by the Selangor state government through Invest Selangor, SAS 2021 is also supported by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) and the Selangor Darul Ehsan Aerospace Industry Coordination Office (S-Daico)

On October 30 last year, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said SAS 2021 promotes the growth of the aerospace sector, as well as providing a platform for local companies to explore the industry.

He added the initiative is in line with Selangor’s aim to be the main player of the aerospace industry by 2030.
