Seldec nears RM100,000 sales monthly — MB

SHAH ALAM, Nov 30 — The monthly average sales transactions generated from the Selangor Digital e-Supply Chain (Seldec) programme is estimated to be RM65,000 to RM100,000, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the transactions tend to be higher when nearing the festive season.

“For example in July, the sales transactions recorded for that month reached RM140,000, due to high demands for fresh goods including chicken, meat, and vegetables.

“As of now the platform has around 1,200 registered entrepreneurs, with over 8,000 products available through the programme,” Amirudin said in response to a query from Bukit Gasing assemblyman Rajiv Rishyakaran on Seldec, during the State Legislative Assembly earlier today.

In October 2019, the Menteri Besar launched Seldec to help traders increase their revenue through online sales, allocating RM2.6 million for that purpose.

Amirudin added the state government is also planning to integrate the platform with other leading e-commerce platforms, such as Shopee and Lazada.

“It is part of our intention to help traders boost their sales. For now, Seldec has to build its own niche. Among the niches that have been aggressively developed include fish, protein-based products, and fresh vegetables.

“At the same time, Seldec has also embarked on other downstream activities including the delivery of frozen products and services,” he said.
