PETALING JAYA, Nov 10 — The mitigation initiative between the state and Federal governments in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic has shown positive results, says Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

The Menteri Besar said the efforts include the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax), which managed to inoculate 75 per cent of the adult population in the state.

He said the programme had been intensified with the launch of Selvax for Adolescents, which kicked off on October 24 with a total allocation of 150,000 vaccine doses.

“Klang Valley and Selangor had recorded over 89 per cent vaccination rate.

“Selvax Community and Selvax Industry had delivered over 370,000 vaccine doses for factory workers and the community,” he said when met after the roundtable conference with the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce, here yesterday.

Also present during the event held at Sheraton Hotel was state executive councillor for investment Dato’ Teng Chang Khim.

In June, the Selangor government launched the Selvax Community and Selvax Industry with a total allocation of RM200 million to complement and expedite the vaccination process in the state.

The initiative, which targets low-income groups, senior citizens, and industry workers, was recognised by the Federal government and is included in the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
