UiTM attains 105th position in QS Asia University Rankings 2022

SHAH ALAM, Nov 3 — Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) is currently ranked 105th in the QS Asia University Rankings 2022 announced yesterday.

In a statement issued today the university said with the new position, UiTM is ranked 10th among 36 universities from Malaysia which had participated in the 2022 rankings.

“Over a period of more than five years, UiTM’s rating had shown an upward trend from 158th position in 2018 to the latest achievement. This shows the faculties’ capacity and confidence in UiTM’s performance have improved,” the statement read.

It said there were 38 new entries this year, bringing the total number of participants to 675 institutions and the universities were evaluated based on 11 key indicators.

“UiTM strength is on Employer Reputation which was ranked 48th, while our Academic Reputation improved from 44.2 per cent to 48.5 per cent and the Student Faculty moved up to 18.1 per cent from 17. 5 per cent, “ read the statement.

Meanwhile, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) remained among the top 200 universities in Asia when it was ranked 167th, an improvement from its 195th position last year.

UMT vice-chancellor Prof Dr Mazlan Abd Ghaffar said the university is now ranked 16th among universities in Malaysia and the impressive achievements showed its determination to consistently improve quality and performance in learning, research innovation and knowledge transfer with the aim of becoming a respected institution of higher learning.

“UMT performance has improved in almost all areas with the highest score given to internationalisation, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The achievement, in line with UMT’s efforts in strengthening international cooperation and global visibility, is due to the commitment and cooperation of all students and staff of UMT,” he said in a statement today.
