Air Selangor: Nearly 40 pct of water supply restored

SHAH ALAM, Dec 21 — The water supply recovery in areas affected by the unscheduled disruption has reached 38.8 per cent, as of 9am today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said the operations for the Semenyih 2 Water Treatment Plant (WTP), the Sg Langat WTP, and the Langat 2 WTP have fully commenced.

“For the Cheras Batu 11 WTP, its cleaning process and damage assessment following the flood incident is being carried out. The expected resumption of Cheras Batu 11 WTP’s full operations is yet to be confirmed at this time.

“Consumers can obtain the list of affected areas at https://hentitugas.airselangor.com/, as well through the Air Selangor app,” it said on Facebook.

Air Selangor added that alternative assistance through water tankers will continue to be mobilised in stages to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises during the disruption period.

“We are seeking consumers’ cooperation in practicing social distancing and wearing face masks while collecting their water supply from water tankers,” the statement read.

Air Selangor will provide updates progressively from time to time through all communication mediums, especially the mass media.

Consumers can also refer to all official communication channels including the Air Selangor app, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, or call the Air Selangor Contact Centre at 15300.

Air Selangor would also like to encourage consumers to submit their inquiries and complaints to the non-voice communication channel on the Help Centre via www.airselangor.com and the Air Selangor app.
