Anwar lauds Selangor’s effort to provide booster shots

SHAH ALAM, Dec 9 — PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has hailed the state government’s endeavour to provide 157,000 free Covid-19 vaccination booster doses, in order to increase immunisation rate among Selangor residents.

He said the initiative under the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax) Booster should be emulated by other states as well as by Dewan Rakyat MPs, in tackling the pandemic..

“Our priorities are to increase the immunisation rate, and efforts to curb the virus must be intensified in order to move towards the recovery phase,” Anwarsaid on Twitter yesterday.

The Port Dickson MP also urged Selangor residents aged 18 and above to get their booster shots at their nearest Selcare Clinic.

On December 7, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced that 157,000 booster doses will be offered to the people through the Selvax Booster programme. 

The booster shots are available at all 16 Selcare Clinics, including in Kuala Lumpur.
