Exco confident south Selangor development will reap economic benefits

SHAH ALAM, Dec 1 — The development of Selangor’s southern area with the construction of the Selangor International Aero Park in Sepang is capable of bringing a positive impact to the state economy and local residents, said Tanjung Sepat assemblyman Borhan Aman Shah.

He said choosing south Selangor is a good move, since it is situated close to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, and Putrajaya.

“The area is rapidly developing, and it appears to have a good impact on the district’s development and the surrounding environs. I am confident the local residents will enjoy the economic benefits resulting from this.

“Even though the area is being developed, it will not affect traditional villages as we have many Banghuris homestays which can maintain culture,” said Borhan, who is also state executive councillor for culture and heritage.

On Friday, during the tabling of the 2022 Selangor Budget Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government will lead the development of a new industrial area in south Selangor.

The development encompasses several aspects to pioneer and realise the true potential of the area, which is situated close to KLIA in Sepang.

The Selangor International Aero Park in Sepang to be developed will include a free-trade zone, green technology, and a renewable source of energy.

The project is led by state government entity Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) on 2,000 acres of land.

The Park has managed to attract the attention of aerospace companies, aviation companies, commercial and private aircraft operators, as well as defence and technology companies.
