SHAH ALAM, Dec 23 — The water supply for 26 areas in the Hulu Langat district will be fully restored by 10am tomorrow (December 24), said Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor)
It said the Cheras Batu 11 water treatment plant (WTP) has commenced its operations, returning the water supply to the areas of Taman Sri Indah Cheras and Kawasan Perindustrian Cheras Jaya.
“The Semenyih 2 WTP, Sg Langat WTP, and Langat 2 WTP which were previously affected have fully recovered and water supply has returned,” Air Selangor said in a statement.
In addition to the 26 areas whose water supply will be restored by tomorrow morning, it said consumers can refer to https://hentitugas.airselangor.com/ or the Air Selangor app, for the list of affected areas.
“Alternative assistance through water tankers will continue to be mobilised to affected
areas, with priority given to critical premises during the unscheduled water supply disruption.
“Air Selangor seeks consumers’ cooperation in practising social distancing and wearing face masks while collecting the water supply from the water tankers. We hope consumers who have received water supply will use their water prudently to ensure that the recovery process in the other affected areas runs smoothly as scheduled,” it said.
Updates will be provided progressively from time to time through all mediums, especially the mass media. Air Selangor added that consumers can also refer to all its official communication channels including the Air Selangor app, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, or call the Air Selangor Contact Centre at 15300.
“We would also like to encourage consumers to submit their inquiries and complaints to the non-voice communication channel on the Help Centre via www.airselangor.com and the Air Selangor application,” Air Selangor said.
On Sunday, several areas in Petaling, Hulu Langat, and Kuala Lumpur were hit by unscheduled water supply disruption due to the emergency closure of four WTPs following increasing water levels.
