Iran offers condolences to Malaysia, Phillipines over natural disasters

TEHRAN, Dec 23 — Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh has offered condolences to Malaysia and the Philippines over the recent natural disasters in both countries.

According to Tehran Times, Khatibzadeh referred to the friendly ties between Iran and the two countries, expressing sympathy with the families of the victims and wishing fast recovery for the injured.

Malaysia experienced severe floods and landslides in several parts of the country as a result of torrential rains with at least 37 people reported dead, and the Philippines witnessed a trail of destruction after Typhoon Rai hit several heavily populated areas that has claimied at least 375 lives so far.
